North Shore 🔑
People call North Shore the "new hip part of town," but that's only half the story. It's actually one of the oldest neighborhoods of Chattanooga, it just had the best glow-up in the city. This is where everybody's out walking a dog, riding a bike, or grabbing dinner on a patio on Frazier Avenue.
Walnut Bridge is the pedestrian bridge that connects the North Shore to downtown Chattanooga and has always been special to me. I also loved spending Saturdays at Coolidge Park with the kids when they were young, playing in the water. That splash pad is still there every summer, and I can't cross that bridge without thinking about those Saturdays.
North Shore pulls in a real mix of people. You've got young professionals who want to walk or bike to work downtown, empty nesters who are ready to trade the yard for a low-maintenance condo but still want to know their neighbors, and families who love that it feels like a small town even though it's five minutes from everything.
Housing runs the range too with renovated historic bungalows sitting right next to brand-new condo buildings. I am always going to be honest with you though, it's become one of the most competitive, in-demand areas in the whole city, so it moves fast when something good comes up.
If walkability is at the top of your list, that is just the first of many reasons to consider this very special neighborhood.
